I love the Holidays!

The essay I agree with would be by Lauren Hill who wrote “Is the holiday Season too materialistic” because she explains not all gift giving is out of selflessness.  There are charities that help out the less fortunate.  I agree with her because giving a gift to a loved one is special, only receive good gifts every now and then.  The person will cherish it and think of you in a good way.  It is also an act of kindness, and it is also fun to give and receive gifts.  It does not mean to spend all of your money on one item, it can be bought within a limit. Not all gifts can be bought though, some people can be creative and make their gifts for their loves ones.  That is also a nice way to give someone a gift and not spend too much money.  Around the holidays my family and I tell each other that we do not want anything for Christmas.  That if we should get each other something, then it should be within a ten dollar limit.  Some of us know each other very well and give presents that we actually would like, not that it would matter.  Even if it was only under ten dollars, it would be more than enough.  Just the thought of them actually thinking about me at the time to give me something is more than special.  Sometimes ten dollars is enough, we can look for sales, make the gift, and even just give them something we know they would like.  Or another way is to just hang out with other, like watch a movie, and talk about our lives.  I believe that is enough because with work and school, sometimes we just do not have the time for each other.

So far in the semester..

The semester has been going faster than I expected, it definitely was time consuming!  So far this semester for the four classes that I am taking is a lot of work and it ranges.  Some I believed was way too much work, considering there are other classes that I am taking.  Then some that was just the right amount of assignments, I believe that this semester has been the hardest for me so far!  One of the challenges I am facing is making it to class since I am often sick, but lucky most of my classes are online.  It does make it so much easier not to fail a class, and get the assignments complete without missing too much.  Something that is really bugging me about this semester is that I cannot make it to class as much as I want too, and not interacting with people as much also.  What I like about this semester is that I am not failing any classes and I also did not drop any classes.  I did not waste any time this semester and it makes me happy because I am one step closer to my goal.  I believe the ultimate pay- off for this semester is finally finishing up classes that are needed to become a Hygienist.  So I guess so far it has been a pretty good semester for me.  I did not get to interact as much, but I am finishing classes and knocking it off my list.  What keeps me going is that I know time waits for no one and also I am not getting any younger so I need to pass my classes and not drop any so that time is not wasted!  The number one thing that keeps me motivated is my loved ones and making them proud of their girl.

Is it worth watching?

What is reality television nowadays?  People all over the world seem to enjoy it and so do I.  It is something I would watch every now and then because it is exciting and it has a lot of drama.  Drama is something I like to watch when I am bored, and also bored with my life.  I like to watch how other people embarrass themselves on live television and they honestly do not even care about it.  I would have to give them two thumbs up for being for brave, even though they do get paid for it.  Honestly, sometimes I do think reality television is benefiting our society.  It just depends on the kind of show, like Jon&Kate Plus 8 and shows about animals.  Some shows are actually great, because they help the community, and some even make donations.  There are reality television shows like “Deadliest Catch” and “Cajun Shrimp” that shows their viewers an idea of what their job is like, and how hard it is just to catch some of the simplest dishes on our tables.  So not all reality television are harming our society as some people would have to disagree with.
Reality television is definitely a guilty pleasure for me, it is something I enjoy watching whether it is about someone’s life or about nature/animals.  I watch a lot of television hence, reality television does give me more choices to watch.  When I get tired of one show, I can always watch another and another, and so on.  The options are endless when it comes to reality television.  There are shows about famous people, people who are looking for love, how people catch animals, how people live day to day with their disabilities, how people go through life threatening situations etc.  For some people reality television is bad, but there’s more to it than shows like “The Jersey Shore”.  Therefore, reality television is definitely something I would miss if it was taken away from me.  Would you say the same?
The only thing I do not like about reality television is that some people are getting paid for just being unwise. I do sometimes think reality television is harming our society because they get caught on camera that thoughtless things some Americans do.  Creating drama with their family, their love lives are on blast, and their career.  These people sometimes have no privacy, as what I would think.  They have so shame; their ugliest and best times are caught for the entire world to see.  Just only for the shows that are popular like “the Jersey Shore” and “The Kardashians”.  I don’t dislike shows like these because it is interesting to watch how other people lives their lives and I enjoy the drama.  Sometimes I can compare it with my everyday life or how sometimes I wish my life can be more fun and careless as theirs.
